Tub Ring Snubber
Procedure for Gathering Failure Confirmation Data
- Unplug the washer.
- Pull the washer away from the wall.
- Get a putty knife and slide it in between the top and thecabinet about 2.5" in from each corner to release the clipsholding the top down. Push in and pull up on the knife to releasethe clips. Don't use a screwdriver for this step or you willdamage the washer finish.
- Lift the washer top up and slowly swing it back against thewall behind the washer.

- Locate the snubber and spring assembly that is resting on thetub ring in the rear right hand corner of the cabinet.
- Is the grey plastic snubber worn away or is there dirt anddetergent under it so that it can easily slide around on itsplate?
- If most of the snubber has worn away, replace it because itcan't absorb as much unbalanced tub energy if it isn't all there.If the snubber plate is dirty and presenting little friction forthe snubber, remove the snubber and clean it and the plate andmake sure they are dry.
Snubber Replacement Procedure
- Raise the washer top using the failure confirmation procedureabove.
- Locate the snubber and spring assembly that is resting on thetub ring in the rear right hand corner of the cabinet.
- Use a large screwdriver or your hand to pull the spring upwhile you slip the old snubber out and the new one in.
- Make sure the snubber plate is clean and dry under thesnubber.
- Lower the washer top and snap the clips down.
