Kinked Drain Hose

Procedures for Gathering Confirming Data

  1. Look behind the washer and determine if the drain hose has sagged down far enough to form a kink that cuts off the water flow.
  2. Confirm a kinked hose by straightening out the kink and verifying good water flow again.

Procedure for Removing Kink

The hose kinked because it was too long. Position the drain hose for a direct run straight to the sewer drain inlet and note how much excess hose needs to be cut off. Tip the washer forward and have someone balance it while you slide the hose clamp up the hose using a pliers to open the clamp. Trim the hose length by cutting off enough at the bottom so that the hose will not sag. Re-attach the hose and lower the machine.
