The Dole icemaker head contains microswitches which are responsible for connecting power to the refrigerators' water valve on the back of the cabinet. As long as the icemaker assembly is cold enough, sensor arm not physically in the OFF position and it is able to sweep across the ice cube bin without obstruction (bin not full), the mechanism will automatically go through the fill phase, powering the water valve. The mechanism should power the fill valve for about 12 seconds, resulting in about 5.5 to 7.5 oz. (160 - 200 cc) of water into the ice cube tray.
Timing for the complete cycle will depend on which icemaker head is installed. Heads of three different timing cycles where made; 154 min., 79 min. and the 33 min. 'party ice' model. The cycle timing of any particular head is not adjustable.
