Near the end on the icemaker's cycle, the ice sensing (aka 'shut off') arm moves down into the ice cube storage bin and sweeps across it. If the bin is not full, the sensing arm is able to continue through it unobstructed. The arm will continue to move until it returns to its original position at which time the cycle will continue. The harvest portion of the cycle should last about 8 minutes.
At this point the tray begins to rotate. After a few degrees of rotation, the motor control circuit is 'locked in' and the harvest is allowed to continue regardless of the position of the unit's shut off arm.
After rotating approximately 140 degrees, the ice tray catches on the tray stop at the top corner of the icemaker head which prevents the tray from rotating further. As the tray's shaft continues to turn, the tray is twisted approximately 40 degrees which loosens the cubes from its surface. The tray stop is then retracted, rapidly releasing the tray which shucks all cubes into the storage bin.
The tray continues to turn to approximately 340-350 degrees at which point the fill valve is energized and the tray begins to fill with water.
The water fill timing is controlled internally by the head's motor and cam set up. Fill time should usually be in the area of 12 seconds.
